My Purpose and Goals

Through Ride For Refuge I am raising money for Engineering Ministries International (eMi), a non-profit Christian development organization mobilizing architects, engineers and other design professionals who donate their skills to help children and families around the world step out of poverty and into a world of hope.

My goal is to ride 200 miles in the month of October, culminating with a 30 mile bike ride with a team of friends and family. For that I would like to raise $1000. That's $5 for every mile I ride. The more you give the more I ride. Can you help me reach my goal? The deadline is October 31, so click the link below start supporting me now!

I'm officially a bicycle commuter

I rode my bike to work from my apartment for the first time today!  I'm exhausted but I will do it again.  It was nice to have a purpose for riding my bike rather than just for pleasure or exercise.  The best part about it is I saved money on gas and I was friendly to the environment.  The ride was only about 6 miles each way but the cold (37 degrees) foggy morning made it tough.  I don't remember October always being this cold.  Anyway, I'm up to 52 miles now!  Keep posted to find out the next place I ride.  I'm going on a road trip this weekend.
